They help reduce bad practice, harmful material or actions such as animal cruelty, social responsibilty or respect for colleagues. Ethics such as Honesty, Social responsibility and carefulness are used to also gain public support for the research with ethics such as legality and confidentiality protecting peoples rights improving social and moral values at the same time.
Therefor Ethics in research are essential for succesful work, helping to increase its credibility and worth, whilst reducing any harmful publication or actions which it may produce.

ReplyDeleteA little more detail on each would be good as Lisa has kind of already posted these?
But good overall description.
It is important to apply ethics to all stages of research - planning, conducting and evaluating a project. It is important to do this to make sure that all aspects are covered e.g. it is important to understand and plan where all of a particpants data and information is going to to be stored so that it is kept safe and confidential.
ReplyDeleteThis sums up what lisa said but it is an important point and looks at all the aspects of ethics. Research without legal and moral ethics would cause many problems, and therefore when researching everyone must consider the points you have mentioned.
